All About Revive Your Ride!

What is Revive Your Ride!?

Revive Your Ride! is the free, industry-wide marketing program created and funded by the nearly 300 member companies of the non-profit Motorcycle Industry Council. The program is designed specifically to help get customers into their local powersports retailer, updating their parts, accessories and gear and then back out on the road enjoying their ride. When more people ride, the whole industry benefits. Think of it as our industry’s “Got Milk"TM campaign.

How does it Work?

Revive your Ride! works by getting customers excited about riding again and back into retailers. It’s simple; it’s about building consumer interest, floor traffic and sales.

To enter customers need only to go to a participating retailer, enjoy taking a look at the latest powersports products, while they’re at it get a unique entry code from the dealer, and then enter online at reviveyourride.org. It’s completely free for customers to enter and completely free for dealers to participate.

But it’s more than cash and product giveaways, it’s a campaign that any dealer can use anytime to drive more traffic and encourage more riding. Revive your Ride! is a personal call-to-action for consumers to get out and ride – whether that means accessorizing the bike they already own, bringing a machine out of mothballs, updating riding gear, or getting that overdue servicing done. Revive your Ride! works.

When did Revive Your Ride Start?

Revive Your Ride! began in 2010 with a national promotional campaign offering $25,000 in cash prizes to consumers who picked up entry cards at their local dealer. Thousands of consumers and hundreds of dealers participated, leading to 15 lucky winners who shared $25,000 in prize money. The program was funded entirely by the MIC Aftermarket members.

What are the plans for 2012?

For 2012 Revive Your Ride! is featuring two national campaigns, spring and fall. The spring promotion starts April 15 and runs through June 30th. It includes product giveaways in addition to cash prizes. Last year we had 50 prize packages, 50 happy winners from all across the country.

The fall promotion will start October 15 and run through December 30th.

But Revive Your Ride! is more that the two national promotions, Revive Your Ride! is a 24/7 campaign that any retailer can use. The Revive Your Ride! web site at www.mic.org/reviveyourride offers free marketing/promotional tactics, free logos and digital images and you can tailor it all to fit your local market. Use it for to strengthen your local efforts while tapping into the power of a national industry effort.

Why should I participate?

Why wouldn’t you? This is a perfect tool to help you get customers into your dealership. And it’s the first time our industry has pulled together for a promotional effort of this magnitude. Be a part of it. How many other campaigns cost you so little effort yet deliver so much?

Sign up, get involved. Last year nearly 600 dealers participated, and the results and feedback were extremely positive. It’s easy. It’s virtually free. And it’s available 24/7.

  • Now that you’re here, use the promotions planner and download free, professionally designed Revive Your Ride! artwork, logos, ads, e-Cards and more.
  • You’ll also find dozens of simple, flexible promotional ideas. All designed to give customers even more reasons to go to your store and SHOP NOW. Do something that will create momentum and build excitement to drive floor traffic.

How will my customers find out about Revive Your Ride! promotions?

MIC is launching a multi-media campaign to support the promotions. And MIC members including OEs, aftermarket suppliers/distributors, media outlets and other industry business influencers are also supporting the promotions on their websites and in consumer communications.

What can I do to let my customers know about the Revive Your Ride! promotions?

You can download free posters, banners, post cards and more on our Downloads page. Put the logo on your website, send out free eCards to your customer database, organize special events – you’ll find lots of ideas for driving traffic on our Getting Started page.
