What is Revive Your Ride?

Revive Your Ride! is the first industry-wide marketing program designed to boost consumer visits to dealerships nationwide.

The program was initiated by the MIC Aftermarket Committee and designed to provide manufacturers, distributors, dealers, agencies, and other companies involved in the powersports industry a tool to create consumer interest, urgency, floor traffic and ultimately increased sales.

The Revive Your Ride! campaign is designed to keep current and new riders engaged in the industry, returning to retailers for additional product, knowledge, service, and events.

Revive Your Ride! is available to dealers nationwide at no charge. Downloadable tools and a list of supporting MIC member companies are available.

WHO is involved?

Companies throughout the industry are invited to participate.

MIC is making the program available to all industry participants free of charge.

Distributors, Manufacturers, and OEMs are encouraged to boost the campaign through the use and promotion of the logos and creative elements on web sites and in marketing messages and by offering special Revive Your Ride! sales programs, offers, incentives and/or events to your dealers and/or consumers.

Dealers and retailers are encouraged to participate by highlighting sales and marketing efforts with the Revive Your Ride! promotional tools and creative elements.

Everyone in the industry can get involved. Each business can take advantage of the multiplier effect and use Revive your Ride! to encourage riders, powersports enthusiasts and those who buy for them that now is the best time to shop:

WHAT is the Revive Your Ride! program?

The Revive Your Ride! program is an industry-wide marketing campaign with consistent branding and creative assets. The program is designed to be flexible in its usage locally while consistently reinforced nationally.

Dealerships can build excitement by customizing the creative assets for locally impactful advertising, special programs and events.

Distributors, manufacturers, OEMs, and other industry participants are encourage to promote the program through logo usage in existing promotional activities and to create special Revive Your Ride! offers, events and programs for your dealerships and/or consumers.

The promotional tools are free and simple to use. They are flexible and can be tailored to fit local market conditions and individual dealer needs so retailers can best showcase their particular sales, events and activities giving customers even more reasons to shop now -- winterization offers, service seminars and special events, riding-gear fittings, helmet checks, motorcycle and ATV training and more.

How Will Customers Hear About Revive Your Ride!?

Customers will hear about Revive Your Ride! from a wide variety of sources.
  • Participating MIC members will be sending information about this promotion to their dealers and retailers.
  • Ads and editorial in participating enthusiast publications.
  • Web banners advertising Revive Your Ride! will be posted to various industry web sites including distributors, manufacturers, publications, blogs, owners clubs, and more.
  • When consumers see and click on a Revive Your Ride! banner ad, consumers will be linked to a special Revive Your Ride! landing page: www.reviveyourride.org. The landing page encourages consumers to visit their local dealer.
  • Revive Your Ride! will be visible at consumer shows.
  • Dealer associations will get the word out to their members.
  • MIC is getting the word out to consumers via an aggressive PR and social networking campaign.

What are the benefits of participating in Revive your Ride!?

It promotes a clear message to customers that regardless of how much they’re able to spend, now is the best time to visit their local powersports retailer, motorcycle dealer, aftermarket or service shop.

Unified campaign, consistent in theme and message, multiplied by the frequency and reach of a combined effort.

When hundreds of dealers and powersports businesses use the same message, consumer awareness and impressions are multiplied over and over again, cutting through today’s marketing clutter.

The industry-wide campaign is available to dealers at no charge and is designed to keep current and new riders engaged in the industry, returning to retailers for additional product, knowledge, service, and events.

Revive Your Ride! can do for industry retailers what Black Friday does for mass merchandise sales or what Superbowl does for grocery stores (not to mention beer sales) – that’s what Revive Your Ride! can do for motorcycle and aftermarket shops and service.

Dealers in other industries (RV, boats, paint, pasta and others) have leveraged and benefited from an industry-wide promotion.

WHEN does the program begin?

Phase 1 of the Revive Your Ride! program starts NOW, just in time to support the ATV riding/hunting season, winter activities, and holiday shopping. Creative elements with a holiday theme are available to use in holiday communications and events. Phase 1 includes aggressive public relations and social networking efforts as well as a consumer website landing page for links from consumer publications, press activity, social networking and online banner ads.

The program will continue to grow into the spring 2010 riding season. It can help do for powersports retailers what the Super Bowl, Black Friday and holiday-themed sales events do for department and grocery stores.

Initial plans for Phase 2 include consumer sweepstakes, dealer locator, lead generator for participating dealers and additional marketing tools and support. Campaign elements will evolve based on need, feedback, and results.

WHY is the industry launching this campaign?

Industry leaders recognize that the health of the industry depends on a strong, successful dealership network. To be successful dealers need more customer traffic.

Through the MIC’s Aftermarket Committee the campaign was launched with the goal of helping dealerships through this challenging economic environment.
